Scott L. Davis, is a professional drums/percussion teacher and recording artist with over 20 years of experience. His experience includes teaching basic to advanced drumming techniques to hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels, as well as performing in countless shows, from the biggest stages to the smallest hole-in-the-wall clubs.
Scott is well versed in playing and teaching many different genres of music on the drumset, as well as global percussion/hand percussion instruments, classical percussion, and rudimental snare drum. He also has experience working in Musical Theater.
He has studied with some of the very best drummers and musicians in the business, including Virginia’s own beloved jazz drummer, radio personality and bandleader, Jae Sinnett; Ed Soph (master jazz drummer and teacher at the UNT School of Music); Michael Hawkins (long-time bassist for the legendary jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut); the late Tim Bishop, former principle percussionist for The Virginia Symphony, and Rich Mossman (Producer/Nashville session drummer).
Scott is currently teaching private lessons from his home studio in California, and is an adjunct vendor with several charter schools. Private lessons are offered in the studio, as well as via Zoom or FaceTime.
Group clinics and percussion sectional consulting are also available.
I am a strong believer that everyone should be able to have a life of music. That's why I became a teacher. Whether you're a just a beginner or an advanced student needing guidance, let's explore music together!
